River Plate and Boca Juniors already know the date of their next Superclásico for the League Tournament: it will be next October 3 at the Monumental stadium.
The Professional Football League confirmed this Friday the programming of days 13, 14 and 15 of the First Division contest. The clash of the two biggest in Argentina will be in the 14th. and it will be the fourth meeting between these teams so far in 2021, although it will be the first time it will be played in Núñez.
In the last two previous occasions, Boca Juniors was favored, although all the games ended in a draw during the 90 minutes.
The first Superclásico of the year was on March 14 at La Bombonera, for the Super League Cup and it was 0-0.
The second time that River and Boca saw each other was on May 16, for the semi-finals of the League Cup. The peculiarity was that Marcelo Gallardo’s team had to appeal to many youths due to an outbreak of COVID-19 on the campus, which caused 15 casualties. Among the boys summoned was the reserve’s substitute goalkeeper, Alan Leonardo Díaz, who at that time had not made his debut in the First Division, and ended up being a figure in La Bombonera, despite the fact that the Millionaire fell on penalties after 1-1 equality, and the set of Miguel Russo took passage to the definition of the contest.
