Djokovic equaled a record that was not recorded 132 years ago

Novak Djokovic (1st) is giving a blow to the great history of tennis. The Serbian, with the victory 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, 4-6 and 6-2 against Alexander Zverev (4th), he got into the US Open final and is three sets away from achieving his 21st Grand Slam: it would make him the top winner, ahead of Roger Federer (9th) and Rafael Nadal (5th).

With this victory, starting down the set again, Nole equaled a mark that had not been achieved since 1889 !: since tournaments are played majors (Wimbledon 1877), the Serbian became the second tennis player to reach the final after losing the first set in four games.

The only one who had been able to do it? American southpaw Quincy Shaw, at All-American (US Open). At that time, ended up losing the definition against Henry Slocum (6-3, 6-1, 4-6 and 6-2). Shaw played from 1884 to 1894 and this was his best performance in tournaments in this category.

Djokovic will look to defeat Daniil Medvedev (2nd) and break another record: be the first to win after having lost the first set in, so far, four matches of the same Grand Slam.
