Rincón won the US Open Junior and broke a record in Spanish tennis

Daniel Rincón gave the blow in the final of the US Open Junior: defeated in definition a Juncheng Shang by 6-2 and 7-6 (6). In this way, the player from Spain lifted the title and left the Chinese in second place, who entered the tournament as the first seed.

This victory breaks a streak that Spanish tennis had for the last 35 years: Rincón, 18, is the first tennis player from that country to be crowned at Flushing Meadows, in Juniors, in the last 35 years. The last to achieve it had been Javier Sánchez Vicario, who in the final had beaten Argentine Franco Davin.

The junior US Open champion reached the title by losing only one set in the five matches he played.. Currently, is part of the Rafa Nadal Academy and he was sparring, on several occasions, from the Mallorcan’s training. Here is one of the many great screenings in Spain.
