Oscar Valdez, current super featherweight champion CMB, he told Robson Conceicao that he cannot win a fight the way he closed the fight this Friday, September 10.
“I feel like he tried to run the whole fight, I tried to give my fans a good fight, I’m sorry for not getting the knockout,” he said at the end of the fight in an interview with ESPN. “You can’t win a fight like that.”
During the first half of the confrontation, the Brazilian managed to establish his distance and running well to the sides, and the Sonoran connected on different occasions, who as the fight progressed began to despair.
However, during the second half he gave the initiative to the Mexican and the judges’ cards were closed, causing much controversy over the score.
Two judges saw 115-112 in favor of Valdez and the other saw 117-110 for the Sonoran. This last card was the one that upset the Brazilian’s team and various boxing analysts.
“He would say things to my face, I think we are already mature. I’ve been through a lot this week, “he said. “I’ve been through a lot, if you disrespect me. We won the fight, we did what we had to do ”.
The annoyance of Oscar came after Robson he began to underestimate the Mexican, mocking and making some moves that wore down the Mexican.
This comes after a week and a half ago it was announced that Valdez tested positive for phentermine in a doping control, but managed to make the first successful defense of the scepter.
“This improves the situation, it was a hard week,” he confessed Oscar Valdez. “Let’s go to the next chapter. He disrespected me ”.
Now Oscar Valdez will look for the winner of the fight between Jamel herring, champion of the OMB, and Shakur stevenson next October 23.
“Sure, they are great boxers, they are great champions,” he commented. “I want to face the best.”
