Marco Trungelliti continues to add in Europe. The Argentine now beat Brazilian Thiago Monteiro by a clear 6-4 and 6-3 in the Szczecin Challenger and is already in the quarterfinals.
Trungelliti, ranked 179th in the ATP world rankings, had entered the tournament with a win over Frenchman Matteo Martineau (348th) and now defeated Monteiro (92nd ATP) to get into the last eight in the Polish tournament that is played on a brick dust surface and with prizes of 132,280 euros.
The 31-year-old from Santiago will play this Friday against the winner of the cross between the American Alex Rybakov (371 °) and the Spanish Nicola Kuhn (288 °), who eliminated from the tournament the top favorite for the title, his compatriot Albert Ramos (47 °) .
