(EFE) – The Brazilian women’s team defeated Argentina 3-1 this Friday with goals from Debinha, Nycole and Angelina in the first of two friendly matches scheduled after participating in the Tokyo Olympics.
The Argentine team reacted only towards the end of the match when Florencia Bonsegundo appeared to discount.
Those led by Sweden’s Pia Sundhage, who has been working on an attacking strategy since before the Olympics, dominated the ball from the beginning of the match played at the Amigao stadium in the city of Campina Grande.
Debinha opened the scoring 37 minutes into the match after a pass from Ludmila.
The lead was extended by Nycole in the 58th minute. The lead was one of the changes the Swedish coach made in the interval to strengthen the Brazilians’ offense.
Ten minutes later, Angelina extended the score for Canarinha after a play started by Debinha.
Those led by Argentine coach Germán Portanova will have their chance for revenge next Monday, when the two teams meet again, this time at the Almeidao stadium, in the city of Joao Pessoa.
