Vancouver Sevens: Matchday 1 ended with confirmed quarterfinals

The first day of the World Sevens Tour in Vancouver and there were big surprises in the groups. In this way, the quarterfinals for the second day of competition were confirmed. The second day of the Vancouver Seven can be seen exclusively on Star +.

In the Zona A, South Africa became strong by winning all the matches: in front of Mexico by 53-0, to Spain by 34-7 and finally to Kenya by 33-14. This last selected team managed to qualify in second place after staying with the match against the europeans by 17-5 and in front of mexicans by 45-7.

In the Ggroup B, Ireland managed to qualify in the first position after surpassing Hong Kong by 17-14, to Jamaica by 50-0while in the final match tied with Britain on 7. Set British ranked second after beating the asian by 31-5 and to Jamaica for 24-5.

Finally, in the zone C, USA he was able to win all the games he played: 33-5 to chili, 26-7 to Germany and 29-19 to Canada. The local team was also able to qualify but in the second position since they won the match against the europeans by 24-5 and in front of trans-Andean by 19-14. What’s more, Hong Kong and Spain they also got into the second phase by staying between the two best third parties.

On the second day of competition, the most important matches will be played: in the first instance, the quarterfinals will be played: Ireland-Hong Kong, United States-Kenya, Great Britain-Canada and South Africa-Spain. While Chile-Jamaica, Germany-Mexico They will face each other to determine the last places of the competition.
