The Tigres del Licey officially announced the hiring of the gardener Nick heath to reinforce the team in the 2021-22 season agreed to start on October 27.
Heath is the third imported reinforcement officially announced by “The Glorious”, who had already announced that first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino, belonging to the Kansas City Royals organization, and relief pitcher Aaron Barrett, of the Washington Nationals, would form part of the team.
However, on August 20, the new leader of the Tigres, Tony Diaz, had anticipated that Heath would be with the group although it had not been officially announced.
In an interview on the radio program Grandes en los Deportes, he also referred to the players Brian Serven and Norel González, but they have not been officially hired.
Nick Heath was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 2016 Draft and is now on the Los Angeles team. Arizona Diamondbacks, with whom they have had brief Major League Baseball experience.
In 20 games in the majors, the Atlanta native has 5 hits in 35 at-bats for a .146 batting average with one RBI and four walks traded.
With the Reno Aces at AAA, he has a .251 batting average with five home runs and 26 RBIs, in addition to 36 runs scored and 19 stolen bases.
In the 2019-20 season when he played in LIDOM he had action in 34 regular series games and finished with a batting average of .252 (103-26), he scored 18 runs with 4 doubles, two triples, one home run and nine RBIs.
Heath overcame with 16 stolen bases his teammate Erick Mejía and Dairon Blanco of the Toros del Este who cheated 8 pads in said regular series.
The training camps of the Tigres del Licey are scheduled to start on October 4.
