Indianapolis doesn’t know if it can count on the starting quarterback for Week 3 or beyond
INDIANAPOLIS – The quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, Carson Wentz, sprained both ankles during Sunday’s loss to Los Angeles Rams, and the head coach Frank Reich reported Monday that he is not sure when the passer might return.
The former star of North Dakota State He limped off the field midway through the fourth period after his right leg was caught between a mountain of players. He did not return to the game.
Reich said Wentz injured his left ankle early in the game, and played despite the pain.
It is not clear if Wentz will play next weekend when the Colts visit the defending champions of the AFC South, Tennessee Titans, in a game that could give the winner an early advantage in the divisional race.
Indy went 0-2 for the first time in the four-year tenure of Reich, and tries to avoid his first 0-3 start since 2011, when Peyton manning he was injured.
