Javier Torrente will have his first European experience

Argentine Javier Torrente will lead in the Belgian Super League. The 52-year-old coach was announced as the new coach of Belgium’s first division Beerschot.

This will be his first experience as a coach in the football of the old continent and the eleventh in his career. The coaching staff is completed with assistants Greg Vanderidt, Frank Magerman and Diego Torrente.

Torrente started in the world of soccer as an assistant to his compatriot Marcelo Bielsa in the Argentine National Team. And since 2007 he has been a solo coach.

The clubs he has managed throughout this year are the following: Cerro Porteño, Coronel Bolognesi from Peru, Libertad, Newell’s Old Boys from Argentina, Nacional, Cobreloa from Chile, Once Caldas from Colombia, León from Mexico, Everton from Chile and Morelia from Mexico.

Javier Torrente coached Chilean Everton for the last time in the 2019/20 season and just a few weeks ago he rang with intensity to coach Sportivo Luqueño in what would have been their fourth club in Paraguay.

The Beerschot of the Belgian Super League is the last in the standings with only 1 point in 8 disputed dates and hired the Ecuadorian as a reinforcement for this season Moisés Caicedo, who debuted in defeat 3-1 against Ostend the last date of the League.

Argentine Javier Torrente will have a lot of work to reverse the situation.
