White, a running back for the Pats, had to leave the game with a hip problem
The New England Patriots lost a key piece of their offense after running back James White left the field early in the second quarter with a hip injury. The team says it will be out for the rest of the game.
White was tackled on a sideline by Saints linebacker Demario Davis after a six-yard run with 11:34 remaining in the quarter when he landed awkwardly on his knees.
White lay on his back and was attended to by the training staff before the assistance car was called.
Almost all of White’s classmates came over to pat him on the shoulder before the cart headed for the locker room.
