María Camila Osorio could not even take the first step in the second WTA in Chicago (USA). Czech Tereza Martincova won 6-3 and 7-5 in an hour and a half of play.
Osorio, who faced this tournament with his best position in the world list (70), continues to play on a hard surface, facing Indian Wells, the highest event at this stage of the year.
Martincova, meanwhile, comes from playing the quarterfinals in Ostrava, last week, where she fell against the Greek María Sakkari (finalist of the tournament) by 7-5 and 6-3.
The winner of the match will face the winner of the match between Sloane Stephens and Tamara Zidansek.
