NEW YORK – Instant replay of out-of-bounds violations in the last two minutes of regulation or overtime in NBA games this season will be initiated by a challenge from the coach rather than the umpires.
The NBA Board of Governors approved the change on Wednesday in a one-year test.

Under the previous rule, coaches could not challenge an out-of-bounds decision within the last two minutes. The change allows coaches to challenge an out-of-bounds decision at any point in the game.
