Mexican Daniel Zellhuber, to the UFC

Daniel Zellhuber lived up to his prognosis and impressed the UFC president. He couldn’t get his finish, but he gave one of the best fights of the season against Brazilian Lucas Almeida and was left with one of the two contracts handed out tonight.

The undefeated fight could not disappoint. As expected, Almeida came out aggressive and trying to finish early with left and right hooks that rocked the ‘Golden Boy’ early.

Zellhuber withstood a lot of punishment in the first round and it took almost the first five minutes to start finding his distance. Although the threat from Almeida’s left hand did not cease, the intensity of his attacks decreased and the native of the state of Mexico achieved a demolition that was key.

Daniel hurt from the top position and started kicking hard to the body with his left leg and connecting to the head with his right leg. He secured the second and entered the third with the slogan of showing that he deserves to be in the UFC.

The reality is that both showed caliber to be in the largest promoter in the world, they kept pushing even though both were exhausted and clearly Daniel was limping after the exchange. One of the best presentations so far in the fifth season.

Brazilian Caio Borralho got the co-main event over Canadian Aaron Jeffrey and compatriot Edivan Santos lost to Rivzan Kuniev, but neither was considered. Only Ihor Potieria of Ukraine was left with the contract by winning the star.

Next Tuesday, the UFC Apex will see a lot of Latin action with the Mexican Fernando Garcia vs. Josh Weems, Carlos Hernández against Spaniard Daniel Barez and Genaro Valdez against Patrik White.
