The fifth Slam without Big 3: Djokovic dropped out of Indian Wells

Novak Djokovic will not play the Indian Wells Masters 1000: This was announced by the tournament’s Twitter account. With the decline of the No. 1 in the world, there will again be a Masters 1000 without any member of the Big 3.

Federer and Nadal were already out of the entry list of the fifth Slam and in this way a constant of the 2021 season is repeated: none of the three players with the most Grand Slam titles will participate in a Masters 1000.

This event, which had not happened since 2004, happened in Toronto, Cincinnati and, now, Indian Wells. To see at least one member of the Big 3 in a Masters 1000, you have to go back to Rome, when Djokovic and Nadal played a great final, which was left for the manacorí.

After Indian Wells, only one Masters 1000 (Paris) and the ATP Finals remain. Will Djokovic be there?
