New York Yankees slugger Joey Gallo received positive news Thursday when X-rays and CT scans on his injured left hand / forearm came back negative.
Gallo will be an option off the bench for Thursday night’s game at the home of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Gallo was injured when he was hit by a pitch in the seventh inning of Wednesday’s 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays. He couldn’t hit in the ninth inning of the game.
Meanwhile, first baseman Luke Voit is heading to the disabled list, manager Aaron Boone announced.
Voit appeared to hurt himself running to first after striking out during Wednesday’s game. Voit had been dealing with a bruise on his left knee bone.
