This weekend will take place week 5 of NPC, New Zealand’s provincial rugby union, with engaging matches to watch exclusively on Star +.
First of all, on Friday from 3:05 in the morning of Argentina, Northland will play before Waikato on Star +. The same day, from 22.05, Bay of Plenty will face Wellington Lions, also in Star +.
Then on Saturday at 0.35, Manawatu, with the star figure of Aaron Smith, will receive Otago live on Star +, while from 22.05, Tasman in view of Southland will close week 5 of the tournament, exclusively in Star +.
The NPC consists of two professional divisions, each consisting of a total of seven teams. Whoever achieves the Premiership title will be the champion, while the team with the lowest ranking will be relegated to the Championship.
All teams play a total of 10 regular season games (five home and five away), followed by the semifinals and the final. In addition, all teams play against each other once, as well as there are four crossover matches between each division.
In the Premiership Division, Waikato is the leader with 16 units, followed by Hawkes Bay, which has 14. Behind are Tasman and Cantebury, both with 14. For their part, in the Championship Division, Taranki is at the top alone with 18 points, nine ahead of Manawatu. The podium is completed by North Harbor with four units.
