Yaroslava Shvedova announced her retirement from tennis

Yaroslava Shvedova officially announced her retirement from the tennis world. At 34 years old, a title (Bangalore, India 2007), a final (Bogotá, Colombia 2015) and the 426th place in the world rankings, he decided to change the course of his career.

After a few years marked by a time out of the courts due to an ankle problem and for having been a mother, The Kazakh tried to return in 2020, but COVID ended up killing her illusions to climb the ranking.

Shvedova became the number 25 in the world, a double Grand Slam champion in doubles and from now on she will work as captain of the Kazakh team of the Billie Jean King Cup (She was a player during the visit to Córdoba in April of this year).
