(EFE) – After the exhibition in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal were once again the usual irregular and insecure team and did not go beyond the draw against Brighton & Hove Albion that was much better (0- 0).
Mikel Arteta’s men, with their spirits through the roof after beating their neighbors 3-1, were missing against the ‘Seagulls’, who led the game during the 90 minutes and deserved much more than what the marker.
Only the lack of success in the face of goal prevented them from going with an advantage at halftime, after winning practically all the aerial duels to the Gunner ‘defense but hardly putting Aaron Ramsdale to the test. Arsenal did not even reach the door.
Already in the second half, the pace picked up slightly, but always with Brighton as the protagonist. Marc Cucurella, chosen man of the match, Neil Maupay and Leo Trossard tried, without much aim, and the best for them was Solomon March, who tried with a header to leave Maupay alone, but Ramsdale savior appeared to put the mitt.
With Martin Odegaard missing and substituted in the 63rd minute, the best for Arteta’s team was Emile Smith Rowe in a counter led by him and culminating in a low shot that Robert Sánchez cleared well placed.
Arsenal break a streak of three consecutive victories in the Premier and go down one gear in their climb up the table. It is ninth with ten points, while Brighton is still the surprise of the competition and is fifth with fourteen points.
