Tyson fury, heavyweight champion of the CMB, stated that he has not thought of fighting against Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua.
“I have not thought about them,” he assured TalkSPORT in his first interview after the fight between the Ukrainian and the British. “I have no interest in fighting any of them or kicking him while he’s down. Is not my style. I like to choose someone who is well, successful, up to the top ”.
This comes after Usyk he removed the belts from the OMB, IBF and AMB last September 25 in a fight that he won by unanimous decision by cards of 117-112, 115-113 and 116-112.
For its part, Fury will defend on October 9 the championship of the CMB in view of Deontay Wilder, after the British knockout of the American in February 2020.
“I do not like to choose people who are down, probably at their lowest point and probably mentally unstable and not well with a big defeat, after a long reign,” he replied of fighting with Joshua. “Usyk did his job, did what he had to do and Joshua you have to do your thing. It’s not my bussiness”.
This was the second defeat in the career of Anthony, after in June 2019 Andy Ruiz he defeated him by knockout in the seventh round. Six months later, Joshua regained the championships in the rematch in Saudi Arabia.
Will there be a fight between Fury and Joshua?
Since the beginning of the year, the teams of Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk began negotiating to unify the heavyweight belts in England.
However, there were some obstacles in the talks and in the end the decision of a judge in USA, forced Fury to defend the championship against Deontay Wilder.
“Was I surprised that he won (Usyk)?”, said Tyson. “Yes, I was. I expected Joshua I could win the fight, but he didn’t and that’s not my thing anymore. The only thing that worries me is to beat Deontay Wilder and it is the most dangerous heavyweight. In my opinion, Wilder can defeat Joshua, Usyk and the others, but not me ”.
