Bad news for Aryna Sabalenka. The Belarusian, currently in second place in the world ranking, announced on her social networks that You will not be able to dispute Indian Wells because of having tested positive for Covid-19.
“Unfortunately I tested positive at Indian Wells and I will not be available to compete. I have already started my isolation and will stay here until the doctors and health officials clear me. So far I feel good but very sad that I cannot play this year.” The European said in a social media post.
Sabalenka has only played two editions of Indian Wells, in 2018 and 2019. In the first he agreed until the third round while in the second he fell in the fourth instance.
