Acero Cali, former Argentine kickboxing champion and partner of Chino Maidana, died

On. Sunday morning he died Jorge “Acero” Cali, Argentine, former world kickboxing champion, who worked in partnership with Marcos “Chino” Maidana several years.

Jorge Cali He was 49 years old, and he was in a hotel in Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina, where he held an evening of boxing. It was organized by Chino Maidana Promotions.

As reported by those close to him, Cali suffered a cardiac arrest in his room at the Hotel La Campiña, after the event. His body was found right there.

He was CEO of the company that bore the seal of Marcos Maidana. He participated in the local evening that was broadcast on Saturday night on the screen of Channel 9.

Further information on the underlying cause that led to his death is still unknown. The sad news was confirmed by Martin Sanchez, press officer of the promoter.

Jorge Cali He was a pioneer for kickboxing and mixed martial arts in Argentina. In times when boxing reigned, he fell in love with the public with another activity.

Figure of Cali gained great value during the 1990s, years for which it forged its rivalry with Horacio “The Ninja” Enrique.

Both carried out a series of combats in the mythical Luna Park, with so much technique and tactics, as hardness in his blows.

The final fight between these fighters took place in October 2013, with a very tough knockout in favor of The Ninja.
