Dellien cut the great Argentine streak in Challengers

The Bolivian Hugo dellien cut a streak of five consecutive weeks with Argentine champions in Challenger tournaments after defeating in the final Camilo Ugo Carabelli by 6-3 and 7-5. In this way he proclaimed himself the king of the contest in Lima.

After 1 hour and 44 minutes of play, the 140th in the world once again won a title in this category after more than two years without being able to do so. The last had been on June 30, 2019 in el Milan Challenger against Danilo Petrovic.

Since the third week of August there has been at least one Argentine champion in Challenger: Carabelli in Warsaw, Juan Cerúndolo in Como and Banja Luka, Mena in Quito and Tirante in Ambato.

On the side of the native of Buenos Aires, although today’s result was not what he expected, his 2021 is on the rise: He won his first professional title in August and now he reached a final. From next week it will be 219 in the world.
