Jimmy Garoppolo suffered an apparent right calf injury, and was replaced by the rookie Trey lance at half time of the duel between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks of the NFL Week 4.
The team announced the return of Garoppolo as questionable, and the quarterback came out to the second half without a helmet and with a black cover over his leg, which he later retired himself.
It was not immediately clear what the play may have been where he was injured Garoppolo.
Throw was chosen third overall in the last draft, coming from North Dakota State, and is expected to be the quarterback of the future for the Niners.
During the time he was on the field of play Garoppolo during the first half, he had 14 completions of 23 pass attempts for 165 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Also, he was sacked on one occasion for a 7-yard loss.
