The historic duel between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox opens the undercard for the Major League Baseball Wild Card games, this Tuesday at 8:00 PM ET via ESPN Sports.
Both teams finished 92-70 in the regular season, just one game ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays who were out on the final day of competition, to ensure that the East Division, won by the Tampa Bay Rays (100- 62) have three teams in the final duels.
This is the fifth time in their history that the two teams have met in a winner-take-all game (regular season and playoffs).
The last time they met in a definitive duel was Game 7 of the American League Championship Series in 2004, where the Red Sox completed the only 3-0 series comeback in MLB postseason history.
