(EFE) – Borussia Dortmund, with Erling Haaland injured, won this Saturday 2-1 against Augsburgwhile Wolfsburg conceded their second loss in a row, losing 1-3 to Borussia Mönchengladbach, losing ground in the fight for the top spots.
Dortmund suffered more than necessary, having gone ahead in the 10th minute with a penalty converted by Raphael Guerreiro.
Augsburg, who had been betting on high pressure without believing too much in Dortmund’s favoritism, drew in the 35th minute through Andi Zeqiri, who took advantage of the rebound after a shot from Arne Maier crashed against the crossbar.
In the second half, Dortmund was more consistent in taking advantage of the spaces Augsburg left behind the first pressure line.
In the 52nd Julian Brandt scored the second goal, which would ultimately be that of victory, at the end of a counterattack that Marius Wolf had started in the own half and Marco Reus had continued.
Then Zeqiri scored by return mail but his goal was disallowed for a clear foul against Manuel Akanji on the previous play.
Then Dortmund had everything to sentence. In minute 57 Reus finished off against the crossbar, after picking up a rebound. In the 66th Thorgan Hazard, alone in front of the goalkeeper, crashed the ball against the post.
In 70 Reus failed to shoot over from an excellent position.
Meanwhile, in 58 Augsburg had been close to a draw when Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel had to deflect a Pedersen shot for a corner kick.
