After several weeks without being able to overcome a synovitis in the right knee, the River Plate medical staff decided that Matías Suárez will undergo an operation next Tuesday.
The Cordovan striker has a chronic ailment, which does not allow him to play or train normally, that is why, after further studies, it was decided that what is known as a “surgical toilet” of the area be performed, since he already had three other interventions on that knee. The first was in the patellar tendon in 2012 and two in the cruciate ligaments, in 2013 and 2014.
On this occasion, the surgery will serve as an exploit, to perform a cleaning and see if you need any other procedure. The goal is for the scorer to stop feeling pain.
Suárez, who could barely start in five games in the current League Tournament, could hardly be taken into account by Marcelo Gallardo in recent days due to chronic synovitis.
It is believed that after Tuesday’s surgery, the forward, a key man for River, he will miss at least eight games, but depending on the state of the knee, he could be absent for the remainder of the year.
