Trevisan-Bouzkova, the seventh longest match of the Open Era

Three hours and 52 minutes lasted the battle between Martina Trevisan (66 °) and Marie Bouzkova (93 °), which ended up taking the Italian 6-4, 6-7 (8), 6-4 in the first round of the WTA 1000 from Indian Wells. This marathon will remain in the history of women’s tennis; it is the seventh longest game in history, taking into account the Open Era.

The Italian, who this week defends the 2020 Roland Garros quarterfinals and will face Anett Kontaveit in the second round, won the victory against a Bouzkova who left 100% of her physique on the field (she could do little from the 4 the same until closing, due to discomfort and fatigue).

In turn, this is the second longest meeting of the 2021 season behind Kristina Kucova’s victory in three hours and 55 minutes against Ester Gorgodze in the WTA quarterfinals in Gydnia, Poland.
