The CMB order the winner of the heavyweight fight to enter Tyson fury, current champion of the body, and Deontay Wilder face in unification fight to Oleksandr Usyk.
“The council board of the CMB has reviewed recent history in the heavyweight division, “announced the agency. “Considering the long inactivity in the division due to the pandemic, legal processes and coronavirus infections, the CMB has ruled that the winner of this fight will have 30 days to secure the contract to unify the division against the champion of the OMB, IBF and AMB, Oleksandr Usyk, in search of an absolute champion in the division ”.
All this comes after all the topics that have been given in the completions: the long wait back in the ring of Fury and Wilder, the talks that never materialized between the team of Anthony Joshua and Furyas well as the new monarch of the division.
Also one who has been waiting his turn to seek a world championship is the British Dillian whyte, who is the acting monarch of the CMB.
On this, the council added: “If no agreement is reached to ensure unification, the winner of Fury vs. Wilder 3 will have to fight against the current interim champion of the CMB”.
Heavyweight unification fight?
For much of 2020, representatives of Anthony Joshua and Tyson fury negotiated to achieve the unification of the heavyweight division.
However, due to different circumstances, they were unable to finalize the fight. In July of this year, a judge from USA ruled that Fury he had to give Wilder revenge.
While Joshua, was forced to take the mandatory fight against Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian defeated by unanimous decision Joshua by cards of 117-112, 115-113 and 116-112.
Now, Joshua can request the rematch clause before Usyk, but the confrontation of Fury and Wilder it will define much of what will happen with the full division.
