LONDON – Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United player, has been voted best footballer in the Premier League in September.
The Portuguese, who has returned twelve years later to his former club, took off with a double against Newcastle United before scoring again in the win against West Ham United. During the month of September, Cristiano also participated in the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
It is Ronaldo’s fifth time named Player of the Month and the first since March 2008. The period between his last award and this one, of thirteen years, is the longest in the history of the Premier.
The Portuguese forward prevailed in the votes to Joao Cancelo, Antonio Rudiger, Allan Saint-Maximin, Mohamed Salah and Ismaila Sarr.
