After her tremendous US Open, where she was crowned champion, Emma Raducanu (22nd) returned to the circuit: after what was her participation in Flushing Meadows, where she won qualifying and then the main draw without giving up sets (20 sets played and 20 won).
Despite this history, the 18-year-old British tennis player lived through disturbed weeks, where, among other things, she changed coach. And it was noticed in his debut in Indian Wells (he was seeded): ALiaksandra Sasnovich (100th) cut her streak of consecutive sets won and, incidentally, defeated her 6-2, 6-4.
The last time Raducanu had lost a set was on August 22, at the Challenger in Chicago. On that occasion, Clara Tauson (49th), beat him 6-1, 2-6 and 6-4.
With this fall in the Masters 1000, Emma still does not win WTA matches: so far, she only won ITF matches (at Wimbledon and US Open, respectively)
