Chile defeated Paraguay 2-0 and took a break this Sunday in the match of the fifth day of the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
In the first stage, Paraguay endured the efforts of those led by Martín Lasarte and managed to put a lock on the Red’s attempts.
But in the second half the lock was broken and Chile scored first with a great goal from England’s Ben Brereton in the 68th minute and then, in the 72nd, with Mauricio Isla.
Chile is eighth with 10 points which brings it closer to the seventh place that Peru occupies with 11, which was defeated this Sunday in La Paz. And Paraguay is sixth with 12.
On the next day, this Thursday, La Roja will receive Venezuela and Paraguay will visit Bolivia.
