They open the action Victoria Azarenka, 32 in the WTA ranking, against Jelena Ostapenko, 29Th. Two Grand Slam winners trying to reposition themselves in the world elite. Ostapenko will play her third semi-final of the year (she did not lose any) and will face a double tournament champion. A successful precedent for the Belarusian at Roland Garros 2019.

While, Paula Badosa, number 27Th in the world, will face Tunisian Ons Jabeur (14Th) for an unprecedented place for any of them. The record between the two is equal, because the European held at the US Open 2015 and the African in Miami 2021.
