Ronnie Shields and Anthony Joshua’s expectations

“I expected him to fight that way, to fight like a bully, but he didn’t,” Shields says. “I didn’t ask him what his fight plan was, I didn’t want to put him through that, because obviously it wasn’t the right plan. I told him that he didn’t fight like him (he usually does). I think he’s a much better fighter than he showed in that fight with Usyk. Like I said, I saw some rounds with him and his team, I pointed out certain things to them. So that’s why he wants to make a change (of coach) ”.

In the same way, he commented on what Joshua told him when they re-analyzed the fight a bit and their plan to follow to beat the rematch at Usyk.

“He told me that there are things they never taught him to do,” he explains. Shields. “It amazes me that a guy who is a world heavyweight champion doesn’t do certain things. But like he said, European boxing is different from boxing here in the United States. And he realized that he had to come to the United States to learn something different. And he feels, and I feel, that I can show him something different that will really help him in that rematch. “

When questioned Shields about the possibility of working together with the current coach of AJ, Rob McCracken in case he got the job as a new coach, Ronnie said AJ he only mentioned Angel Fernandez as the only one you want to keep on your team.
