Federico Coria (68th in the world) could not reach the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 in Moscow. Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis (106th, LL) eliminated him with a convincing 6-2 and 6-1 in 70 minutes of play.
The 29-year-old Argentine arrived successfully against Russian Alibek Kachmazov 6-2, 5-7 and 6-2 in the first round but his opponent was obviously more precise and applied in the game plan.
The Lithuanian will face Andrey Rublev (first seed) or Adrian Mannarino.
What’s more, Pedro Martinez (who took out Guido Pella in the premiere) won again. He did it 6-3 and 6-4 to Filip Krajinovic and will be Marin Cilic’s rival in the next instance.
