Schwartzman was devastating and dreams of the Antwerp ATP title

Demolition Man. Diego Schwartzman, No. 14 in the world, shone in the semi-final of the ATP 250 in Antwerp and, after a solid 6-4 and 6-0 against rising American Jenson Brooksby (70th), entered the final of the contest for the third time.

The path of the best Argentine racket continues at a high level: in just under an hour and a half of play he sealed a victory that will allow him to go in search of the fifth title of his career, the second of the year.

It should be remembered that the only trophy he got in the 2021 season was in the Argentina Open, at the beginning of the year, which meant his first title in his country.

In this sense, in the final in Antwerp he will face Jannik Sinner (13th), who beat Lloyd Harris (32nd) and dreams of a place in the ATP Finals.

For the albiceleste, the situation is quite similar, since they still have chances to enter the tournament again that will be played for the first time in Turin. In turn, the triumph he had obtained to reach the semifinals allowed him to reach his 100th success on hard courts, being the fifth from Argentina to achieve that mark.

In Antwerp, Schwartzman he had beaten Scotsman Andy Murray in his debut (172 °), former world leader. Then he beat Brandon Nakashima (79th) and now Brooksby. In none of the games did he give up a set.

The Argentine has already played 11 finals on the big circuit, of which he prevailed in four. Now he achieved his sixth hard surface final and the first two of his career on that floor were precisely in Antwerp, since he lost the decisive duel there in 2016 and 2017.
