Diego Schwartzman (14th in the world, second seed) fell without mitigating to Jannik Sinner (13th in the world, first seed) 6-2 and 6-2 in the final of the ATP 250 in Antwerp.
The Italian missed little and was brutal with his right hand acceleration to win the final. Sinner did not lose any sets all week and claimed his fifth career title.
For Schwartzman it meant the third final lost in Antwerp, after those of 2016 (Gasquet) and 2017 (Tsonga).
It was also a key duel in the fight to reach the ATP Finals: with his victory, Sinner was 10th, with 2,845 points to 110 of Hubert Hurkacz, who, given the probable loss of Nadal, would be the last to be classified.
