Paula Badosa qualified for the WTA Finals in Guadalajara. She is the seventh classified and the last place will be defined this week between Ons Jabeur and Annet Kontaveit.
Badosa, 23, a brand new Indian Wells champion, did not compete this week but Ashleigh Barty’s descent accelerated the process to get into a Finals for the first time in her career. Joining the classification are Aryna Sabalenka, Barbara Krejcikova, Karolina Pliskova, Iga Swiatek, Maria Sakkari and Garbiñe Muguruza.
The last place will be disputed by the Egyptian Ons Jabuer and the Estonian Annet Kontaveit. Jabeur has 3020 points and will play Courmayeur: if he wins the tournament, he will leave Kontaveit with no chances, who has 2881 and will play in Cluj. .
