Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will not play the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday due to his right ankle pain, the team announced.
“Malik Monk will start in James’ place,” coach Frank Vogel said.
Vogel further said LeBron’s status is “questionable” for the second game in a row Wednesday at OKC, but did not rule it out.
He also clarified that James’ ankle “is sore” in a different place than last year, noting that he did not re-injure the ankle sprain that kept him out for 26 games.
The Lakers are 1-2.
