(ESPN.com) – River thrashed Argentinos Juniors 3-0 at the Monumental, took nine points from Talleres, the guard, and is heading towards the championship.
By date 18, the Millionaire won with goals from Bruno Zuculini, Julián Alvarez and Braian Romero.
After the tie by 3 to 3 that earlier Talleres starred, who came second, with Lanús, third, those of Núñez had a great chance to stretch the difference.
And true to his style, Marcelo Gallardo’s team did not disappoint. Thus, seven dates from the end, the first local Doll Championship seems to be at hand.
River added the eighth consecutive victory, and won 10 of the last 11 games. It gives the feeling that for this great team that DT put together, everything is going well for him in the Professional League.
Without Enzo Pérez, a key player, who served a suspension date for accumulating five yellow cards, was Zuculini, his replacement, who led the way to victory.
The midfielder, who is not used to shooting from outside the area, took a rebound and took a splendid shot that hit the lower part of the crossbar and hit inside the goal.
Everything works out perfectly for Gallardo: if an important player is missing, the one who enters plays the same or better. With this unwavering confidence and the irregularity of the rest of the teams, River marches comfortably and without disheveled by the local tournament.
The local came out to press as they usually do and did not let Argentinos out of their field. The dominance was sustained, until the opening of the scoreboard arrived at 27 minutes.
Argentinos tried at the end of the first half to go for the equalizer, and came close with a header from Avalos that was rejected by a defender near the goal. But it didn’t spawn the Bug much more. And River in the end had the second with a shot from Enzo Fernández on the post.
In the complement Argentinos went out to look for the tie, they annulled a goal to Reniero (in a correct way), but River was on the lookout, sniffing the cons and the spaces to bill. And everything began to define itself quickly. At 12 minutes Julián Alvarez, the team’s top scorer with 11 goals, and two minutes later Braian Romero, who follows him with seven, rounded off the win.
The truth is that River, beyond the names and absences, such as those of Nicolás De la Cruz, Enzo Pérez and Matías Suárez, for example, experienced players and hierarchy, keeps his idea intact.
River has students, Board of Trustees, Platense, Racing, Central, Defense and Justice and Atlético Tucumán until the close of the tournament. With 21 points at stake and nine points ahead of the second (12 over Boca), added to his solid and forceful game on each date, nothing seems to stop this triumphant journey towards the title.
