Bayer Leverkusen was defeated at the Bay Arena against Wolfsburg (0-2) and loses sight of the upper part of the Bundesliga, before receiving Betis in the Europa League.

Gerardo Seoane’s team was overtaken by Florian Kohfeldt’s Wolfsburg, Sevilla’s adversary in the Champions League, who buried their losing streak. He accumulated four defeats in a row.

It was worth Wolfsburg with resisting in the first half and taking advantage of the start of the second. In three minutes, before game time, he put the match on track with his two goals.

In the 48th minute a good pass from Dodi Lukebakio was taken to the net by Lukas Nmecha and three later it was Maximilan Arnold who signed the second and extended the visitor’s lead.

All the efforts of Bayer Leverkusen, who have one point out of the last nine in play, were in vain. He was able to close the gap in added time thanks to a penalty by Maxence Lacroix, who was sent off. But even so it didn’t mark Seoane’s outfit. The Belgian goalkeeper Keon Castels stopped the shot from the eleven meters of the Argentine Lucas Alario.

The victory places Wolfsburg on the edge of the European zone. Bayer Leverkusen, however, is fourth, in the Champions League zone.
