Berrettini and Alcaraz will be at the Rio Open, and what about Buenos Aires?

With date confirmed between February 12 and 20 in the framework of the South American tour of brick dust, the ATP 500 of Rio gave his first billboard news. They are nothing more and nothing less than two of the players of the moment: Matteo Berrettini and Carlos Alcaraz.

The number 7 in the world and recently qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin plus Spanish, one of the new jewels of the 18-year-old circuit, will animate a painting that will surely add prominent names in the coming weeks.

The Rio Open 2021 was not played as scheduled due to the global outbreak of COVID-19 but, in its previous years, it had presences and luxury champions. For instance, Rafael Nadal won the inaugural edition in 2014 being succeeded by David Ferrer in 2015. Even Pablo Cuevas, Dominic Thiem and Diego Schwartzman they took the crown in 2016, 2017 and 2018, respectively. Meanwhile, Serbian Laslo Djere surprised in 2019 and Chilean Cristian Garín regained South American hegemony in 2020.

With the proximity in time and distance for the Europeans, the question is imposed, will they come to the Argentina Open?
