CUBA prevailed against CASI and dreams of the semifinals

CUBA beat ALMOST in a packed party of emotions by 19-16, by the third date of the second round of the URBA Top 12, and maintains the illusion to the surface to get into the semifinals.

TOBoth proposed a game with firm defenses and attacks with difficulties to find space. The locals resisted the rival’s attacks well and incidentally took advantage of every time they had a penalty to add with Martin Roger. The opening hit two penalties to begin to mark what was going to be the afternoon at the Cathedral.

The attack by the visitors never ceased and rat 26 ‘they found him back with Marcos Ortíz de Rozas, who he got into the ingoal with pure courage. The 7-6 in favor with the conversion of Marcos Moroni and the meager advantage at the end of the first half left two conclusions: the game was very even and was played with clenched teeth, despite the mistakes of each one.

The try by Francisco Garoby three minutes after the complement with the forwards again as protagonists, he “clicked” on the premises. From there he began to tilt the court. Roger marked with his foot again to leave the difference in three points and insisted, despite having feasible chances to hit the mark, to score five points. He cornered CUBA, put him against the ingoal and after insisting for a dozen minutes Gerónimo Prisciantelli was in charge of scoring the try. Martín Roger with the conversion left the locals 16-12 up.

With two minutes to play, CUBA went to look for the heroic one, without hiding shortcomings, with everything it had to show, but above all with the slogan of paying dearly for the defeat. He got the penalty in the middle of the court to put the game within 22 academic meters. He pushed with everyone, Rodrigo Avalos appeared and scored the try that gave him the victory.

In this way, CUBA was on the verge of qualifying for the semifinals with two dates remaining and against Buenos Aires, the next date, it could achieve the objective.
