Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid entered NBA health and safety protocols, a source told Adrian wojnarowski from ESPN.
Embiid tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning and is expected to miss several games, the source added.
Embiid was absent from practice Monday and planned to rest the game for the night against the New York Knicks, the first game of a back-to-back.
The four-time All-Star leads the 76ers with averages of 21.4 points and 9.4 rebounds in nine games this season.
The 76ers enter Monday with the best record in the Eastern Conference at 8-2.
