The NBA assistant, Kaleb Canales, was appointed associate coach of the national basketball team of Mexicosources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. He will be part of the technical body of Omar quintero.
Canales will assist Mexico in the next FIBA Americas qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Cup.
Canales was the NBA’s first Mexican-American head coach with Portland in 2012, and most recently has been an assistant coach with the Mavericks, Knicks and Pacers.
Mexico receives Puerto Rico on November 28 and the next day he faces USA.
