Mike White Retakes Starting for Jets;  Zach Wilson is still out

Surprise Mike White has recovered from the right hand injury that forced him to leave the last New Yrok game, and is back home

FLORHAM PARK – Mike white will start as quarterback for the New York Jets Sunday against the Buffalo bills.

The head coach Robert Saleh announced the decision Wednesday, reporting that the starting rookie Zach Wilson he’s still recovering from a sprained knee ligament, and he won’t be ready to play next weekend.

Saleh He also added that the long-term decision at the quarterback position will be one made “day by day,” opening up the possibility that White can potentially keep jumping from startup, even after Wilson has healed. That’s a different version than Monday, when Saleh I declare that Wilson would start again when he was healthy.

Wilson he has been discharged to return to practice this week, and will be leading the practice squad.

It will be the third consecutive start for White, who left last Thursday night’s game, a 45-30 loss on the road to the Indianapolis Colts, with an injury to a nerve in his right hand, although he has made a full recovery.

White threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns in the victory of New York by 34-31 on Cincinnati Bengals on your first start of NFL, on October 31. He was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week in the AFC, and his jersey and game ball went to the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, after he set a new record for completions in a first start, with 37.

But, he has already been elevated twice from the practice squad by the Jets and would need to be signed to the active squad in order to play. So, he would have to clear waivers in order to revert to the practice squad.
