Layer is a member of the Minnesota Twins in the Major Leagues and made his major league debut in 2020 when he was with the Boston Red Sox. In 6 games, one start, he threw 4.2 innings of 12 hits and 11 earned runs conceded with 9 strikeouts.
The El Seibo native was released by the Red Sox in November 2020 and signed as a free agent by the Twins in February 2021. On November 7, he was released by Minnesota.
Robinson Layer is one of nineteen active pitchers on the roster for the week of November 8-14 for the Tigres del Licey.
