Tigres defeats Cardinals in tenth position in Venezuelan Professional Baseball League

The Tigres de Aragua, who came into the match in penultimate place in the competition, scored twice in the top of the tenth inning, to defeat the leading Cardenales de Lara 10-9 in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.

Deinier Lopez hit a one-run RBI hit in the 10th inning and Edwin Garcia traded a full house walk to drive in one more.

Josmar Cordero was 4-2 with two home runs and five RBIs.

The victory corresponded to Ronald Belisario (1-0), benefited from the reaction of his teammates after failing in his relief and allowing three touchdowns and three hits in one inning. The setback went to Shane Greene’s record (1-2), after conceding two touchdowns in one episode.

In Valencia, Leonardo Reginatto hit 4-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two scored, as the Navegantes del Magallanes beat the Leones del Caracas 7-2.

Nellie Rodriguez added a two-run homer.

Henderson Álvarez III won (1-0), after retiring the only batter he faced. The setback for Aliangel López (0-1), after conceding three scores and three hits in four and two-thirds innings.

In La Guaira, the local Sharks scored twice thanks to uncontrolled pitches by pitcher Rómulo Sánchez in the fifth inning, to reverse a disadvantage and defeat the Águilas del Zulia 5-3.

The victory corresponded to Johan Belisario (1-0), with two chapters without allowing runs as a reliever. Jefferson Medina (0-1) lost, after conceding two runs in his relief of just a third of inning.

The Cardinals remain at the top of the circuit with a 9-5 record, followed by the Braves (9-6), Navegantes (8-5), Leones (8-6), Sharks (7-7), Caribes (6 -7), Tigres (5-9) and Águilas (4-11).
