Stretch the difference: Ecuador won six of seven home games against Venezuela in qualifying

The Ecuadorian National Team will play next Thursday in Quito against Venezuela, a rival to whom won six of seven home playoff games.

It will be the eighth confrontation between the Tri and the Vinotinto in Ecuadorian territory, always in Quito. Six times he won the premises and only once did he win the visit. Ecuador needs to extend that hot streak to stay in the qualifying zone.

The last two duels were victories, given that the only drop was on the way to South Africa 2010, when a goal from José Rey complicated the aspirations of the Tri led by Luis Fernando Suárez.

The first match was for the 1994 US Qualifiers and Ecuador won 5-0. In 1996 he won 1-0, in 2000, 2004 and 2011 it was 2-0 and in 2015, 3-0.

In Venezuela, on the other hand, they won 2 times, tied 2 and lost 4, the last in these Qualifiers, the only Venezuelan victory in this tournament.

In total by Qualifiers, they played 15 times, with 8 victories for Ecuador, 2 draws and 5 Bolivian victories.
