Colombia confirmed the fifth tennis player for the Davis Cup

Alexander Falla, captain of the Colombian team, confirmed Cristian Rodríguez as the fifth tennis player who will represent his country in the Davis Cup 2021, tournament that will take place from November 25 to December 5.

Until now it was known that Daniel Galán, Nicolas Mejia, Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah were the players designated for the appointment that has Spain as defending champion and that will be played again after the cancellation of 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the incorporation of the current 444th of the planet in singles and 217th in the doubles modality, the Colombian team was completed, which will make up the Group E and will be a rival of Italy (November 27) and USA.

It should be noted that Rodríguez competed twice for his country: in 2018, he beat his game in the series against Barbados; While that same year, against Argentina, he played the doubles point and was defeated by the duo Máximo González and Horacio Zeballos.

This year, the Davis Cup will be held in three different cities (Madrid, Innsbruck and Turin) and the Falla team will do so in the Italian city. “He is a very useful player in both singles and doubles. We are prepared and I hope they will join us from Colombia,” said the captain.
